Content and overview
This
qualification will give you the knowledge and understanding to work with
individuals with learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyscalculia and
Developmental Coordination Disorder. You will explore the effects of learning
difficulties are how they are diagnosed.
To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning
Difficulties, you are required to successfully complete 5 mandatory units:-
• Unit 1 - Understand specific learning difficulties
• Unit 2 -
Understand the effects of specific learning difficulties
• Unit 3 -
Understand the diagnosis of specific learning difficulties
• Unit 4 -
Understanding supporting individuals with specific learning
difficulties
• Unit 5 - Understand the context of specific
learning difficulties
Delivery Method
This qualification is delivered
either as distance learning course using Google Classroom, or a
blended learning course with 6 face to face sessions, followed by
independent learning using Google Classroom. You will have regular
contact with your tutor, who will provide feedback as you work through the
units.
Cost
This qualification has a £65.00 fee. However,
this could be waived if you are in receipt of benefits or on a low wage (less
than £25,000.00).
Suitable for
Those of you with an
interest in, or who are already working with, people with learning disabilities
in a variety of roles.
Entry requirements
For a
funded/part funded course, you must be aged 19+ on 31 August 2024 and have been
a UK resident for at least 3 years.
You must complete an online induction,
which includes online safety, before you begin a course with us.
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for
this qualification. However, you may find it helpful if you’ve already achieved
a Level 1 qualification.
