Course Overview This course is designed for adults
who wish to gain knowledge about the role of a teaching assistant, what the job
entails and how they can begin a career working as a teaching assistant in a
school or college. We will cover the following: • Types of
schools and colleges • Skills and attributes of a teaching
assistant • Supporting teaching and learning • Safeguarding
children and young people • Next steps
Suitable for Anyone wishing to gain knowledge of
the role, the skills needed and the required qualifications for working in a
school or college.
Delivery Method This is an in person workshop
delivered at Ashby Community Hub over 2 consecutive
weeks.
Progression route/Further
study Guidance is given throughout the workshop regarding
opportunities and careers. You could progress on to:
Further Tailored Learning in becoming a teaching assistant NCFE Level 1
Preparing to Work in Schools NCFE Level 2 Supporting Teaching and
Learning Functional Skills English Functional Skills Maths
Cost This course is free for most.
