Learning
Course Overview: This short,
introductory course is ideal for anyone curious about volunteering. It helps
learners explore what volunteering involves, the wide range of opportunities
available, and the personal and community benefits of getting involved. It is
also designed to build confidence and prepare learners to progress to the NCFE
Level 1 Award in Volunteering.
Course Aims • Introduce learners to
the concept of volunteering • Explore different types of voluntary roles •
Understand what to expect as a volunteer • Reflect on personal motivations
and skills • Build confidence and readiness for a formal qualification
Topics Covered: • What is
volunteering? • Why people volunteer – motivations and benefits • Types of
voluntary organisations and roles • Skills and qualities useful in
volunteering • Your rights and responsibilities as a volunteer • Finding
and applying for volunteering opportunities • Goal setting and next steps
Suitable for: Adults aged 19+
who have an interest in volunteering in the community or those working in the
volunteering sector. This course would also suit you if you want to build
confidence and life skills, as well as providing you with work experience.
Entry requirements: No more
than 6 months volunteering experience.
