Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties - NCFE Level
2 Certificate – Blended Learning
Content and overview: This
qualification will give you the knowledge and understanding to work with
individuals with learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyscalculia and
Developmental Coordination Disorder. You will explore the effects of learning
difficulties are how they are diagnosed.
To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Specific Learning
Difficulties, you are required to successfully complete 5 mandatory units:-
• Unit 1 - Understand specific learning difficulties • Unit 2 -
Understand the effects of specific learning difficulties • Unit 3 -
Understand the diagnosis of specific learning difficulties • Unit 4 -
Understanding supporting individuals with specific learning
difficulties • Unit 5 - Understand the context of specific
learning difficulties
Suitable for: Those of you with
an interest in, or who are already working with, people with learning
disabilities in a variety of roles.
Entry requirements: Literacy/IT Skills Recommended: Especially relevant
for distance/online delivery, you’ll need good written English and basic digital
skills — such as access to a device and internet — to engage with course
materials and complete assignments.
Delivery Method: There will be an one hour Google Classroom induction session,
followed by 5 face to face sessions at Ashby Community Hub. Remaining
course materials will be accessed on Google Classroom. You are expected to
complete 5 written assignments at a time convenient to you to meet the
deadlines. You will also be expected to complete an Individual Learning Plan
(ILP).
Progression
Route: If you’re interested in progressing to further
study at the next level of vocational learning the following qualifications may
be suitable:
• Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism • Level 2 Certificate in
Understanding Children & Young People's Mental Health • Level 2
Certificate in Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences
Additional information: This course is a distance
learning course and you can enrol at any time within the year. Learning time to
complete the course will be discussed with the tutor.
