NCFE Level 2 Certificate In
Supporting Teaching And Learning - Blended Learning
Course
Content and Overview: The course
provides you with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when
working directly with children.
During the course you
will be expected to complete assignments showing knowledge and competence in a
range of subjects including:
• children and young
people’s development • supporting positive behaviour • health and
safety • safeguarding • professional relationships
You will also need
to:
• be observed in your
workplace • produce a display • complete a weekly learner
journal
This course is aimed at
people working or volunteering in roles that support pupils’ learning in
primary, secondary or special schools. This is also suitable for people working
in colleges who may need a qualification to progress within their
career.
IMPORTANT: These are the essential entry
requirements: If you would
like a place on this course, prior to attending an onboarding session
(see information below), you must ensure that you have the
following:
1. A placement in a
school or college for 1 day a week, or 2 half days per week. The placement
setting will need to provide a letter confirming your placement. Or a release
letter, if you are employed by the school/college, confirming you can attend all
classes. Attending ALL classes is a mandatory requirement of the
course.
2. An enhanced DBS
(please note these can take up to 12 weeks to obtain)
3. Recommended at least
Level 1 English or a Grade D / 3 at GCSE

entry requirements: You must be 19+ on 31st August 2026 to join
this course
Delivery
Method: This is a blended course, which means we will be
offering face to face sessions on a twice monthly basis at Ashby Community Hub.
You will also spend time working at home to complete assignments on Google
Classroom.
What will
happen next? After applying, you will be contacted by a member
of the Adult Education team and invited to attended an information
session to meet a tutor, the reasons for doing the course will be ascertained,
and an opportunity to ask any further questions. After which, you
will be asked to attend one of the sessions detailed below.
During the onboarding
session you will need to bring all your evidence, as detailed above, and
you will meet the course tutor. The course will then start the following
week.
Option 1 Onboarding session: Tuesday 8th
September 2026 at 12:30 - 1:30pm. Your class will start
on Tuesday 15th September 2026 at 12:30 -
2:30pm
or
Option 2 Onboarding session: Tuesday 8th September
2026 at 5:30 - 6.30pm. Your class will start on Tuesday 15th September
2026 at 5:30 - 7:30pm
