Course Description
Understanding Child Trauma - Tailored
Learing
Content & Overview: This
course will provide you with an understanding of what trauma is, how this
impacts the brain and body of a child, and how this impacts the transition into
adulthood. This short course will provide an overview of how you can use a
trauma informed approach to support children in your care, as well as looking at
aspects of behaviour through a trauma informed lens.
Suitable for: Learners who have an interest in
learning about how childhood trauma has an impact into adulthood. Learners who
may work with, live with or otherwise support children/people with
trauma.
Entry requirements: No previous qualifications
in childhood trauma or counselling.
Delivery Method: Face to face.
Progression route: After completion of this course, you may wish
to progress onto further courses that support working with and understanding
children. Additionally, you may wish to progress onto other tailored learning or
qualification-based courses. Please check out our website or speak to a member
of staff for more information on your next steps.

DISCLAIMER: You must be 19+ on 31 August
2026 and ordinarily resident in England for the last 3 years. You must also be
resident in the Greater Lincolnshire County Council Area (GLCCA) on the first
day of learning.
When applying for this course, you must provide
evidence to confirm eligibility for funding, this includes proof of ID and proof
of address. In addition, we will also require evidence if your income and or
benefits, if £26,800 gross or below.
If you have not attached the evidence to your application,
please provide using one of the following methods:
