Why study with us?
We provide a welcoming learning environment with excellent learning resources and facilities. Tutors are experienced, well qualified and offer industry experience within their subjects. Learning may also be accessible from home via the Google Education Suite (Google Classroom) and/ or My Dynamic Learning to allow learners to make progress.

Entry requirements
You will be required to attend an initial assessment at a Community Hub to determine your eligibility for the course. Your English must also be to a standard that will enable you to complete any written assignments. If you already have a comparable qualification at a higher level than the result of the initial assessment, you may not be eligible to study the course.

You must be aged 19+ on 31 August 2021 to join this course.

Course Delivery
This is a face-to-face classroom-based course with live lessons and set teaching times.

You should be willing to join in with class discussions, activities and also commit to personal study outside of class times.

In additional to classroom attendance, your tutor will also set you work on Google Classroom and/ or My Dynamic Learning. You should be prepared to do at least 2 hours of independent study per week.

You can apply for a loan of a laptop and Wi-Fi access, subject to availability and eligibility.

You will be expected to complete an Individual Learning Plan to reflect on your learning and progress.

Attendance & Learning Assessment
Classes run throughout the week, with different morning, afternoon and evening sessions available.

You will need to attend your class session on time and stay for the whole session. You will also need the time and commitment required to complete any set homework tasks and maintain attendance of at least 90%. The expected time to complete this course depends on each learner’s starting point and outcome of the initial assessment. You will be expected to submit work to agreed deadlines.

You will be internally assessed via the completion of different tutor assessments, learning journals, tutor observations, presentations and video recordings. All of which will demonstrate how you are currently meeting the qualification criteria set by the Awarding Body.

There will be two, one hour, formal examinations for reading and writing, followed by internally assessed speaking and listening activities for the higher level qualifications.

You will be expected to undertake all your course assessments and examinations. A charge may be levied if you fail to complete your course.
