Course Overview
The First Aid at Work
qualification provides a comprehensive set of practical skills and
knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.
Topics within
this qualification are regarded by the HSE as being important in maintaining
good practice in the safe and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in
the workplace.
The course material covers areas such
as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider, how to assess an incident
and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness. Also
covered are first aid skills in CPR, the use of an AED and assisting a
casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries,
spinal injuries, anaphylaxis and correct use of auto-injectors.
The content of the course is delivered over 3 days. You will
develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid
situations, including:
• Assessing an incident • Managing
an unresponsive casualty • CPR • Heart
attacks • Choking • Head and spinal injuries • Fractures
and anaphylaxis
Delivery Method The First Aid Level 3
qualification is a three day course,
delivered face to face by an experienced and
expertly trained Highfield approved trainer. You must
attend all three sessions. At the end of the course, you will be expected to
complete a multiple choice question paper, under exam conditions and also a
practical assessment.
Suitable for This is a nationally recognised qualification, specifically
designed for those who need to be certified to be a first aider in work. It is
also ideal for those who have responsibility for first aid in the community or
voluntary sector.
Course Price The cost is £300.00 per person,
payable by Debit/Credit card for individuals (available only at Ashby Community
Hub) or via invoice for companies. Internal recharge is possible for North Lincs
Council staff (cost centre and line manager's approval is required).
IMPORTANT: Payment must be completed at least 6 days
before the start date.
