IMPORTANT:

BEFORE you start the course you will need a placement in a school on a voluntary or paid basis for at least 1 day per week (or 2 half days). This is a mandatory requirement for the duration of the course.
The school will need to provide a letter as proof of this and offer an enhanced DBS certificate prior to the course start date. Please note: DBS checks can take up to 3 months during busy periods.

NCFE Level 2 Certificate In Supporting Teaching And Learning - Blended Learning

We will be offering face to face sessions on a twice monthly basis at Ashby Community Hub - days and times will be confirmed with tutor. You will also spend time working at home to complete assignments on Google Classroom.
Please note, after an initial assessment, you will be placed in a class depending on your learning needs or prior experience.

Course Content and Overview
The course provides you with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children.

During the course you will be expected to produce a portfolio of evidence showing knowledge and competence in a range of subjects including:

• children and young people’s development
• supporting positive behaviour
• health and safety
• safeguarding
• professional relationships

You will also need to:

• be observed in your workplace
• produce a display
• complete a weekly learner journal

This course is aimed at people working or volunteering in roles that support pupils’ learning in primary, secondary or special schools. This is also suitable for people working in colleges who may need a qualification to progress within their career.

Entry Requirements
You must hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate and be working or volunteering in an educational setting, supporting children aged between 5 and 19 for the duration of the course. You should have a good standard of English, ideally Level 1 or above.
You must be aged 19+ on 31 August 2024 to join this course.

Upon application, you will be contacted by the tutor to discuss the course and methods of learning.

Course fees
This course has a £65.00 fee, however, it may be FREE of charge, depending on your personal circumstances. To be eligible, evidence of benefit status or low wage is required in accordance with ESFA Funding Rules. If you fail to complete the course, you may have to pay the full cost.
