Do you support children who may have suffered
trauma?
This course will enable you to have a deeper understanding of trauma and how
this impacts the brain and body of a child into adulthood.
Content and Overview
The course will take place over three sessions.
Session one will be an opportunity to explore what trauma is and the impacts
of this on the brain and body, both short and long term.
Session two will break down a trauma informed approach, allowing you to
consider strategies that can be used to support children and young people to
overcome trauma.
Session three will look at challenging behaviour, and how the impact of
trauma can affect behaviour. It will allow you to look at behaviour through a
trauma informed lens.
Suitable for
This course is suitable for foster carers
and those individuals who are thinking of fostering.
Entry requirements
You must be aged 19+ on 31 August 2024
and a UK resident for at least 3 years to join this course as an adult
learner.

face over 3 weeks.
