Content & Overview:
The ILM Level 5 Award
in Leadership and Management is designed for practising middle managers,
department heads, and project managers who want to develop their leadership
skills and enhance their strategic thinking. This concise qualification helps
learners understand and apply key management principles, including effective
leadership styles, performance management, and driving organisational
change.
Units covered: Unit 8607 – 522 Becoming an
Effective Leader Unit 8607 – 506 Managing Stress and Conflict Unit 8607 –
501 Managing Improvement
Delivery Method: Blended – Classroom with 3
assignments
Suitable for: This course is designed for
practising middle managers, department heads, and project managers who want to
develop their leadership skills and enhance their strategic thinking. While not
compulsory, we recommend GCSE grade C/4 in English (and sometimes maths) to
support assignment work
Entry requirements: Experience in a leadership
or management role is beneficial to apply the learning effectively.
Progression route:
• ILM Level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Leadership and
Management — more comprehensive study with additional units and credits • ILM
Level 7 Qualifications — for senior leaders and executives seeking strategic
leadership skills • Management Apprenticeships at Level 5 or higher — such as
Operations/Departmental Manager or Senior Leader roles
